shindigatar Guest Post:  Today’s Abuse of Power talks about raiders reactions to abuses of power and how they are affected.  Shiningstar (Shindig) someone who commonly replies here and is a great friend in game shares her thoughts with us all.

A little over a year ago, the Leftovers charter I had been running with began a downward spiral into the toilet of oblivion. The leads disappeared into RL and the raiders started finding homes elsewhere. Homeless, I started signing up for raids with any charters that seemed to need healers. Many charters needed healers, but most of them ran way too late at night or on weekdays when I needed to get to bed early. Friends in my guild who had been running with Relentless recommended that I try them out. As this charter ran at perfect times for me, I gave it a shot.

Abusing Your Power: 2 – Selfishness

AbuseOfPower2We recently killed Yogg-Saron and I was super happy.  All the hard work and long hours paid off.  But then 3.2 was out and Yogg’s loot suddenly wasn’t so good.  In fact, you could get far better from the Coliseum or the dreaded Ulduar hard modes.  I couldn’t be bothered though.  I wanted more Yogg kills.  I wanted my t8.5 shoulders.  I wanted more fragments for my Val’anyr.

Then one of my raiders pointed out that an amazing tank sword drops off of XT hard mode.  One of the best in the game.  Which made me think… I’m not the only person who wants things out of this zone.  It’s selfish to force everyone into the wipefest of Yogg when in reality, he’s not worth the time unless you are one shotting him.  This brings us to the next abuse of power, selfishness.

Abusing Your Power – Insanity

I’ve always been in a leadership position.  I don’t mind taking a back seat, assuming the leadership is doing their job.  Luckily, I’m extremely arrogant so its difficult for me to see the leadership doing their job, correctly.  My Raid Leadership style can be best summed up,
